Stunt Performer Spotlight: Kenny Hendrix

Featured Interview With Stunt Predator, Kenny Hendrix.

Tell about yourself, Kenny!

I'm a new stunt performer with Rick Fike's team going on 2.5 yrs.  With the exception of the pandemic going on, I'm currently still a prowrestler with 27yrs of experience.

I've had the chance to perform for the WWF in the early to mid 90s.  Some of those matches are on YouTube.

Another great passion of mine is overall fitness.  In short, I've been lifting weights for 35+ yrs.  That fitness/ gym background keeps me in great shape and very competitive in the prowrestling world.

What inspired you to become a stunt person?

Chris Hahn is not only a personal friend but also a stunt performer.  I met Chris back in the early 90's in our prowrestling runs.

He's been retired from prowrestling for while but suggested in the summer of 2018 to contact Rick Fick and set up a tryout.  Well needless to say I like it alot and Mr. Fike liked my attitude as well and been to every training session since.

What is your greatest skill as a stunt performer, is there a story behind it?

I'd have to say my greatest skill would be the ability to take falls.  And quite simply the story behind that is my 27+ yrs of prowrestling experience in terms of I've been getting slammed, taken falls and thrown around for years.

It's such a natural progression to do stunts now.

What is the best part about being a stunt performer?

I like the fact safety is a top priority but also the chance to be a player in some film and or tv work.

What advice would you give other stunt people?

The only thing I can say is make sure you have a passion and a desire for this work and don't lie abt experience in stunts.
