Stunt Performer Spotlight: Gianni Biasetti Sr

Featured Interview With Stunt Performer: Gianni Biasetti Sr

Tell about yourself and your background! *

I was a German car technician before entering the film biz. I moved to Hollywood, California from a small Island in the Mediterranean to pursue film. My first job was free-fall cinematography.

What inspired you to become a stunt performer? "The original film POINT BREAK. I wanted to be in a skydiving movie."

What is your greatest skill as a stunt performer, is there a stunt behind it?

Not really just one, I think I am good with a few. Vehicular stunts, parachutes, heights. Hanging from a helicopter on 22 JUMPSTREET definitely made me pucker up.

What is the best part about being a stunt performer?

I come home proud having been part of making a movie exciting. That i was part of a team that made a scene in a film that we can show the world.

Tell your all-time favorite stunt story!

Vehicular gags are my favorite. For the film WAR DOGS, driving the Porsche 911 in Miami as fast as it could go, while Todd Phillips (director) is chasing in a helicopter getting the shot. Thank you Gary Hymes for that.

What advice would you give other stunt performers?

I made my mistakes in the beginning for sure. My advice is keep your mouth shut, listen and  be loyal and never ever look at the money. I see young new kids getting their first jobs with that big studio getting their first checks being really big thinking their whole career will be like that. Sad to say it's will not, My favorite most fun memorable jobs were on smaller  independent films.

Anything else you'd like to tell the community about?

I didn't get into the film biz to be rich, it was the dream i went for. Don't become a stuntman for the money or fame, do it because you love it and you are good at it. Money and fame will come on its own.
